v CARLA FATIO is a contemporary painter who also works as an art-educator. (She has devoted herself to a voluntarily undertaken art projects in the underserved communities).
In a lifetime immersion studio she has been participated more than 85 group exhibitions in different places and countries, and also 23 solo exhibitions in Brazil.
She has participated recently (Last September/October 2010) at the IV International Art Biennale (BIAB) in China, sponsored by Chinese Government from Beijing and by the Chinese Art Association, and in Brazil sponsored by Stickel Foundation (São Paulo).
Her first solo exhibition outside of Brazil was at the Contemporary Art Museum in Cuzco, Peru, in August 2010.
She has received over 16 awards (national and international ones). One of the most important awards is that her work has represented The ISO Environment 2002 , and another is that she is part of “ One of the Reasons to Love the Planet Earth” .
In 2009 she has participated in VI Euroamericana of Visual Arts in Campeche-México, sponsored by Campeche Government and by ARTAC/UNESCO. She is listed in several Art Dictionaries from in the world.
v Background: She is graduated in Visual Communication by Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP), Master Degree in Psychopedagogy (UNISA), Master Degree in ARTs (UNESP_IA), PHd in course In Sciences of Communication and Culture by Latin American Integration Program (PROLAM/University of São Paulo - USP). Besides being an Visual Artist, Carla since 2006 she is also Institutional Assessor to Abaçaí Cultura e Arte (State Secretary of Culture of São Paulo). Before, she used to be Consulting Coordinator in Visual Arts to BID (InterAmerican Developing Bank) (2002 a 2006) for “Fábricas de Cultura” Program (State Secretary of Culture of São Paulo). She is also invited to teach specialized courses for Pos Graduated students´level in different Universities.
